Typographic artwork on facade school building
A kidney-shaped pavilion has been built on the covered square of the Singelland College in Drachten. Martijn Sandberg designed an art application for this building. Iwaarden has applied a point relief of hemispheres on the facade, that function as typographic elements of a line of text.
It is an universal chorus that spreads over the skin of the school building like a form of acne and provides the ultimate schoolyard feeling: “Sleep All day, Party All Night, Forever Young, Never Grow Old”
The activities of Iwaarden consisted of technical research and implementation of the project, including plastering the walls and casting and assembling the cement balls.
