The classic story of Reinaert de Vos comes to life on two walls in the Bos en Lommer district in Amsterdam. Iwaarden was commissioned by the Municipality of Amsterdam to create, in cooperation with Kallenbach Gallery, murals according to the design of illustrator Stefan Glerum. Stefan was inspired by the story of Reinaert de vos. In his own recognizable style, he drew a modern version of this classic story. The result is impressive; a humorous and futuristic Reinaert brightens up the district and its residents.

The challenges for this mural

During the preparation and realisation of this project, we faced three challenges:

Fine-tune and edit the supplied digital sketch in order to create a cut path for the templates.

Coordinate the desired colours within the possibilities of Keim’s colour palette, while also providing sufficient mutual contrast.

The coarse structure of the wall in combination with the low temperature on the north façade. This was especially a challenge for the adhesion of the templates and the painting of black clean lines.
