Popel Coumou about the cooperation with Iwaarden:
‘The cooperation with Iwaarden enables me to approach a three-dimensional space in the same way as I normally do in my small-scale collages’
To Popel, it seems like she is walking around in her own model. Given the space and budget she is very happy with the result and has been able to create her own world. It feels like you are entering her own atelier. Popel says, that she is happy with the Iwaarden technicians. ‘They are pleasant to work with, work meticulously and take the time, so I can see whether things are ok. In addition, they think along and, if necessary, they solve things on location’

Exhibition as installation
Popel Coumou has created new work, especially for this exhibition. For the very first time, she blows up her collages to a large format, responding to the architectural lines of the museum. Iwaarden has printed and installed the light- and shadow play of lines and planes on the walls, stairs, doors and floors of the hall. This play with moving light and the space make the exhibition an installation, in which Popel invites you to step into her illusionary world and enjoy a special visual experience
