Artwork with secret message
The concrete steps of the entrance stairs to residential tower De Zilverling hide a secret message: ‘the key is under the doormat’. It is an artwork by Martijn Sandberg. Iwaarden is responsible for the technical realization. The pixels of the design have been converted into casted concrete parts and the personal message is encrypted in the public space.

The artwork in the public space is integrated in the corner staircase of residential area De Zilverling at the Colijnstraat in Amsterdam. The secret message is hidden between the concrete steps. The text made up of concrete pixels is spread over both sides of the stairs. The message pops up as you pass the building. Sometimes you see the artwork, sometimes you don’t see the artwork.
