Iwaarden gets inspiration during Milan Design Week 2024

From April 16^th to April 18^th, Salone del Mobile Milano took place. During this time, Milan transforms into a true designer paradise. Every year, the biggest design marks from all over the world visit the city to present their latest developments and designs. Large exhibition halls, old abandoned buildings, villas but also shops are transformed. From colourful expositions to impressive experiences. For us, the best place to get inspired and discover new brands!

Day 1 Milan Design Week
Upon arrival in Milan, the sun is shining in this bustling city. Our accommodation is located in the heart of Brera, an artist district consisting of charming streets full of restaurants and luxury fashion shops.

As we step outside, we immediately discover some cool spaces and an abundance of chrome. In installations and spaces but also in products and materials. The trend that has already started in fashion, is also reflected in interior design.

Then, we end up at a cocktail party of ALPI Wood. They produce veneers in cool colours and patterns. As we further explore the city, we are surprised by innovative applications of familiar materials: brass, wood, mirrors and foils.

Day 2 Milan Design Week
Day 2 starts in the exhibition halls of Fiera Milano. We encounter the most impressive booths and latest interior trends. There are many colourful furniture pieces that incorporate patterns and structures, reflected in curves.

Our highlights? New brands that solve innovative, acoustic solutions and …the best Italian sandwiches.

Then, our e-bikes brought us to Isola, where we visit Lampo Milano. Here, designers from all over the world present their market-ready products, made of sustainable materials and using circular methods.  

We conclude the day at the Masterly X De Interieur Club network drink. It’s nice to run into familiar faces surrounded by products of Dutch designers.

Day 3 Milan Design Week
On our last day, we mainly want to do one thing: Visit the stylish Moooi experience, which is definitely beautiful. Everthing is just right. The wall- and floor finishes, furniture, scent and sound. The technical innovations of ‘Art of Living’ by LG X Moooi take everything to the next level.

During the remaining hours, we cycle through the city and are surprised by what we encounter and we end our trip with a real Italian meal. We take all inspiration home!
