2-8 februarY 2025
Hey! Stockholm Design Week took place from February 2 to 8, 2025, a leading event entirely dedicated to Scandinavian design. This annual event provides a platform for the future of interior design, where trends, innovations and inspiring concepts come together. It is the place to gain new insights and discover how design is developing in the areas of sustainability, aesthetics and functionality.
Iwaarden visited Stockholm Design Week to gain inspiration for innovative wall coverings. We are constantly looking for new products, applications and trends that match our vision on creative interior applications. During our visit we gained a wealth of ideas and saw inspiring products that are shaping the future of interior design.
Inspiring brands with innovative design and materials
• AT Kvadrat we were introduced to 'Clouds', a modular acoustic system with which unique three-dimensional wall coverings can be created. This product not only offers aesthetic value, but also contributes to improved acoustics.
• Vitra presented impressive interiors in which color tones flow seamlessly across walls, floors and ceilings. This creates a harmonious and coherent atmosphere, where the space is experienced as one whole.
• Slalom showed their thin ECO&PET felt, a versatile material that can be applied to various surfaces. Due to the extensive processing options, such as printing and milling, this material offers countless creative applications.
• Johansson managed to impress with new panels and stylish black frames. The stand itself was a feast for the eyes, thanks to the thoughtful use of contrasting colors and patterns.
• Gustafs presented an impressive stand in which they demonstrated the latest applications of Felton. Here we played with different materials, shapes and colors, resulting in innovative and inspiring designs.
Trends and observations
What struck us during Stockholm Design Week was the emphasis on minimalism and the use of natural, sustainable materials. There was no excess, but a strong focus on detail, quality and the production process. Designers pay a lot of attention to the origin of basic materials and the entire process from concept to final product. Colors also played an important role: we saw a combination of soft pastel shades with strong, contrasting colors. This created dynamism and tension within the designs, without compromising the balance and tranquility of the space.
From inspiration to application
Our trip to Stockholm Design Week has inspired us and given us new insights into innovative materials and design approaches. We look forward to translating these ideas into creative and sustainable solutions for our customers.
