Gilding, from church rooster to art object
For more than 30 years Iwaarden has applied the gilding craftsmanship technique to the most diverse objects. This enables us to apply this craft in a professional manner. Iwaarden can gild almost any surface or any object, whether it concerns a church rooster, ornament, award or (indoor/outdoor) wall decoration.
Traditional gilding
The surface of the object is provided with a multi-layer paint system. In the next step, we glue the gold leaf to the paint layer using mixtion. We apply the gold leaf professionally with gloves and sable hair brushes. This traditional gilding technique is resistant to wear and tear and gives a beautiful result.
Technical expertise of gilding
Gilding unusual objects requires a great deal of expertise in different surfaces (metal, stone, wood, plaster and plastic) and in the preparation of this surface, think of the right glue and the right kind of gold leaf.
